I’ve always loved plants. But I’ll be honest—most of the plants I’ve brought home eventually faded away. Every time that happened, I felt like I was starting all over again. At the same time, I’ve gotten really into coding and AI. The possibilities feel endless, and I can’t help but wonder how these two interests could connect.
So, over the next few years, I want to play around with some ideas:
AI-Powered Gardening Sensors – Sensors in the soil could track moisture, nutrients, and growth patterns, feeding into an AI model that gives real-time advice.
Community Plant Health Tools – A system that helps community gardens and schools manage their plants better, making it easier for groups to grow food together.
Sustainable Farming Insights – Using AI to predict how plants respond to different environments, which could help make local gardening and farming more resilient.
Plant Personality Project – This one’s more fun: what if AI could “give your plant a voice,” sending little updates or reminders in a personality that matches the plant?
I don’t know yet which of these will stick, but that’s part of the journey—I want to explore and learn. Maybe I’ll fail, but that's the process. But, maybe I’ll also create something that helps people connect with nature in a new way.
For me, AI and plants aren’t separate hobbies anymore. They’re two sides of the same curiosity: how we can use technology not just to build, but also to grow. 🌿✨
